Founded in 2013, Living Waters Youth Inc. is a nonprofit; community center youth program based in Minneapolis, committed to uplifting and empowering at-risk youth, particularly providing shelter for young teenage women aged 12-24 facing displacement or homelessness.
Our program serves as a haven where these young women can learn, grow, and receive guidance from caring adults. We prioritize education by allocating time for homework and planned activities, helping the children adhere to a schedule while acquiring fundamental life skills.
The structure of our days is organized into age groups, ensuring age-appropriate activities that contribute to the children's learning, development, and overall growth. Beyond academics, we impart essential etiquette, manners, and survival skills to equip them for success in the world.
The program's name, inspired by the legacy of our late Aunt Demetra Douglas, reflects her lifelong dedication to God and youth. Established with the vision to provide positive alternatives, Living Waters Youth Inc. strives to mitigate the challenging experiences faced by at-risk youth, ultimately guiding them towards a healthy and self-sufficient lifestyle.

Our program provides a safe and nurturing shelter for displaced or homeless young women aged 12–21. We are dedicated to creating a haven where these young women can thrive, supported by compassionate adults who genuinely care about their well-being.
At our facility, we offer a structured environment that prioritizes personal growth, education, and development. We allocate time for homework and engage the girls in planned activities to help them maintain a balanced schedule. Days are thoughtfully organized by age groups, with activities tailored to their specific developmental needs and designed to foster learning and growth.
Our program goes beyond the basics, teaching essential life skills, including etiquette, manners, and practical survival tools to help these young women navigate and succeed in the world.
The heart of our mission is inspired by the legacy of my late Aunt Demetra Douglas, whose life’s work was devoted to serving God and uplifting youth. Her passion and dedication continue to guide us as we support these young women in building brighter futures.
